At St. Aemilian Preschool, Inc., we have provided high-quality early childhood programs for families with young children for almost 40 years. Our teachers, all with four-year degrees, plan stimulating, hands-on educational activities that enrich the cognitive, social, emotional, physical and creative development of each child. By providing developmentally appropriate experiences for all children, we foster independence and a love of learning in a warm, nurturing and safe environment. Accredited by the NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) since 1993, we adhere to the highest standards that represent the mark of quality in early childhood education. St. Aemilian Preschool, Inc., is a private, nonprofit, nonsectarian preschool.

Our Staff:

Recruiting and retaining a quality staff is one of our top priorities. Teachers are required to have four-year degrees in early childhood education. Assistant teachers are required to have at least the equivalent of an associate degree in education. We are fortunate to have low staff turnover, and more than half of our staff has been at St. Aemilian Preschool, Inc., for more than 10 years, including some for more than 20 years! We know that it is these people who make our program special.

NAEYC Accreditation:

Accreditation through NAEYC requires us to adhere to higher standards than are required by licensing through the state of Wisconsin. To achieve NAEYC accreditation, we volunteer to be measured against the NAEYC Early Childhood Program Standards in the following areas: relationships, curriculum, teaching, assessment of child progress, health, teachers, families, community relationships, physical environment, and leadership and management.
